Spotlight Award
Rasheed McAlpin
We are pleased to announce that Rasheed McAlpin has been selected as our next recipient of the Spotlight Award. Rasheed works in the Information Technology Department as an IT Assistant. He is an exceptional employee who not only contributes significantly to our IT Department but also serves as one of our running coaches for the high school track team.
In IT, Rasheed has spent countless hours working with our technology partners to resolve issues and find answers to our district's questions. His technical expertise and dedication to finding solutions have been invaluable, making him an asset to the IT team, staff, and students. However, Rasheed's commitment to Shawnee Heights extends beyond the IT Department.
As a coach, Rasheed pushes our students to want more out of themselves, to be the best they can be, and to encourage each other to excel. His hard work and dedication have inspired countless students to become better athletes and people. His approach combines a strong work ethic with a personal touch, motivating athletes physically and mentally. He celebrates their successes and helps them discover the positives when things don't go as planned.
The Spotlight Award goes out to staff who have gone above and beyond for the district and embodies the spirit of Shawnee Heights. We are fortunate to have Rasheed here at Shawnee Heights and are thrilled to present him with the Spotlight Award. Spotlight Awards will focus on one Teacher or Staff member throughout the district nominated by peers, students, administration, and community members.
